About this Content

The purpose of this content is to highlight the effect of Oracle’s announcement related to Support road map of Java SE products and their compatibility with Intellicus and platform certification plans.

Introduction

Oracle has announced end of free support for Java SE 8 in January 2019. Post that time, any further updates would only be available to customers, who have active Oracle support subscription and those will be accessible only through Oracle Support portal. Corporate auto updates would also be available for subscribing customers, but free auto updates would be discontinued.

Oracle has also announced that starting with Java SE 9, it will provide “Oracle JDK” for free under Binary Code License and provide OpenJDK under an open source license agreement.

In short, this means that the access and frequency of security patches & bugfixes from Oracle for Java SE8 and later would get changed or stopped after January 2019.

We will publish full compatibility and positive certification as soon as we get the third party conformation and our tests are successful.
