Wells Fargo is the third largest bank of the USA. Quarterly Status Reporting (QSR) is a division of the loan acquisition and consolidation department of the bank.
Requirement
Wells Fargo QSR needed a heavy-duty reporting tool to integrate into its QSR software, which spins out thousands of pages of complex calculations and summaries every quarter.
They had certain unique requirements such as merging MS WordTM documents into the report output at runtime. They needed to generate 1000 pages per minute for couple of days at the end of the quarter. They also required high concurrency access to the reporting system.
Integration
Intellicus provided seamless integration into the host application within two days. Intellicus replaced Crystal reports here which didn’t seamlessly integrated into J2EE applications and required a separate Web server IIS. Intellicus support team provided them a head start in adopting Intellicus by providing services for converting Crystal reports’ design layouts to Intellicus report layouts.
Intellicus’s built-in feature of inserting external documents, such as MS WordTM, at runtime into the report output resolved their primary requirement. Other built-in features such as embedding links into the report and option to print the linked content along with the report helped them customize and enrich their reports to a great extent.
Security
Offline report designing facility of Intellicus helped the bank to let the developers design the reports without providing access to the real database. They provided an offline file for designing the reports, which contained no restricted information.
Intellicus comes with secured access and works under HTTPS protocol, the host application must be written for HTTPS though. Intellicus report information passes from one component to the other in a secured format and is accessible only to authorized sessions.
Based on the success of integrating highly available, secured multi-featured reporting tool into their QSR system, Wells Fargo also installed Intellicus in its other two divisions WF-PRG and WF LACE.
