Intellicus presented its big data roadmap in the second Hadoop India
user group meet
August 03, 2010, New Delhi, India
Intellicus Technologies presented its big data capabilities and road map at the second Hadoop India User Group Meet up, organized by Absolute Zero Forum on July 31, 2010 . The technology un-conference was an effort to develop an active Hadoop community that can network and share information. The event brought together leaders from the Hadoop developer and user communities. It saw very interesting sessions on Hadoop and provided a platform for freewheeling discussion between everybody interested in Hadoop.
Sajal Rastogi, from Intellicus exhibited current capabilities of Integrating Intellicus with Hadoop via Hive to fetch data into its reports and dashboards. He also discussed the technical aspects of tighter integration, and revealed how Intellicus will provide Business Intelligence over unstructured data on Hadoop. Intellicus allows one to keep the data in Hadoop itself, and fully leverage map reduce capabilities to process the data for BI purposes, not requiring anyone to extract a subset to a relational ware house. The presentation was followed by a live demonstration of Intellicus ad hoc reporting and dash boarding over big data.
Speaking on this occasion Rajesh Murthy, Head of Engineering, Intellicus said "Telecom and Web intelligence companies, both marketing and lawful interception, are approaching us to evaluate the options of storing their ever growing huge data on Hadoop, and still be able to do the end user ad hoc analysis with same ease as on relational counterpart. Our live demonstration of network charts on Telecom CDR data from Hadoop, using a drag drop based ad hoc reporting, reiterates our commitment to provide seamless, end user friendly BI functionality over Hadoop."
Pioneers in Ad hoc Reporting Platform to support Hadoop framework for Large Data analysis via Hive and Aster Data
June 03, 2010, San Jose, CA
Intellicus Technologies, a leading provider of Enterprise Reporting and Business Insights Platform, today announced its support for large data analysis on Hadoop via Hive and Aster Data. Intellicus also announced its road map of tighter integration with Hive and Aster Data for submitting long running Map Reduce jobs from Intellicus for background run to get live-streamed data on its Dashboards and Ad-hoc reports.
Intellicus is capable of high volume data processing and streaming capabilities and offers advanced data visualization tools. Combined with petabtytes of data storage and parallel processing strength of Hadoop, Intellicus can provide end users access to ad hoc analysis on big data.
On the occasion, Pankaj Mittal, VP & CTO of Intellicus, said,"The ad hoc reporting support is given off the shelf. The support for much needed date related data analysis for varied type of web log files, will be released later this quarter. Now, one can generate web analytics on the fly."
Pankaj also added, " The scope is very clear, Intellicus would not provide HDFS management or Map Reduce job writing tools. Instead, it will sit neatly on Hive or Aster Data layers, to be able to browse meta data and do ad hoc reporting .Of course, invoking Hadoop batch jobs for data processing is in the scope."
Intellicus is also looking into developing partnerships with big data consulting companies looking for ready-to-deploy BI on Hadoop. It has already tied up with iLabs, an architectural consultant arm of Impetus Technologies Inc. iLabs has active contributors for Hive JIRA and Open Source.
